5/2/08 TRIPLETS!!!!
Butterscotch surprised us with two
energetic ewes and a huge lamb ram out
of our mammoth sire Phoenix!!!!
This mischievous trio (Gilligan, Ginger,
and Mary Ann) are already keeping
Butterscotch on her hoof tips as they scamper in three directions at once. Combining Butterscotch’s extremely fine fleece, awesome instinctual mothering abilities and plentiful milk, with Phoenix’s size and conformation, these lambs will have a serious advantage over their flock mates, sure to bring eye catching characteristics into the choosy spinners flock!!!
The ram lamb ( Gilligan is a Black Mouflan) has some of the biggest horn buds we have ever seen on a lamb with extraordinarily long fleece on a newborn.
Ginger is a solid black ewe with the sweetest personality, wanting to nuzzle and fall asleep in your lap.
Mary Ann is a Spotted Black Mouflan (its there under the spotting pattern!!) is the most vocal and energetic of the three, never sitting still for a minute!! What a charmer with that incredibly loud spotting pattern!!
All three carry Moorit and Gilligan and Ginger may carry spotting . If interested, please contact us to inquire about reserving this fantastic set of triplets!!!

5/3/08 Ewes! Ewes!! Ewes!!!
Taylor made our hearts jump with the birth of two more ewes, a Grey Black (Claudia) with flashing and a Badgerface (Cassie)!!!! Both of these gems are out of our Phoenix!!!! These are the last offspring ever to be sired from our gigantic ram, since we lost him to a coyote kill in January. No finer tribute can be given for such a great ram, than the birth of these two large ewe lambs which will carry on his size and confirmation to future generations!!!
Taylor usually gives birth during the night, so this year it was a rare treat to watch her bring her lambs into the world mid-day...and boy is she vocal about announcing her babies births!!!
Both ewes appear to have inherited their dam and sire’s size and confirmation, long legged with long bodies and large hindquarters, this pair will make excellent additions to a spinners flock looking for that high quality fleece that their dam carries in abundance.
Claudia and Cassie are both available. If interested, please contact us to inquire about reserving these adorable ewes.
Note: We are asking $500 for the Badgerface sweetie, Cassie.
5/3/08 And last but definitely not least!!!!!!
Maggie continues her wildly spotted ram
lambs out of Leonardo!!!!
Take a look at the loud spotting patterns
on this pair!! Bo and Luke were up and
scurrying out the barn door before Maggie
had a chance to clean them up!!!
Both rams are Spotted Black with large striped horn buds. These boys display the energetic, athletic abilities of their father bouncing and “pogo” sticking after the older lambs, much to Maggie’s dismay. Unlike most leader sheep, these boys have retained the stocky build of their parents, filling out nicely on Maggie’s ample milk.
These boys carry the Lassi-Bida and the Blesa leadership lines, a sure winning combination as future studs in any flock!!
Bo and Luke may carry Moorit. If interested, please contact us to inquire about reserving this vigorous pair.
Twenty Five lambs in seven days...what an intense lambing period for 2008!!!! And we couldn’t be happier with the results!!!!
And just look at these spotting patterns and sizes!!! Not to mention the biggest horn buds on rams and ewes we have ever had!!
The 2008 May Lambing has given us the best of our leader line ram combinations...active, vigorous, stocky lambs with incredibly wild spotting patterns...these lambs will make great additions to any breeding flock.
And the last lambs from our Phoenix, the largest ram we have ever had on the farm….the big boy sure did pass on his size and horn buds to his offspring. Never have we had lambs of such size!!!!
Please enjoy these pictures and look for more as we begin to post additional lamb photos...its rare to meet a lamb around here that doesn’t ham it up for the camera!!!
Please check back in mid-June for our second batch of lambs!!! We promise an even more varied lamb crop!!!
