Grasshopper “The Patriarch”
CLRC Reg. No. DCI RAM B5H 5N
Horned Black Solid Single
(Carried Moorit and Spotting)
Grasshopper came to us from the Darnit Char’s farm and was used exclusively in our first year breeding. Grasshopper has produced many great lambs, with thick strong horns and long body conformation.
Grasshopper has a solid black fleece, silvering with age. He has a long straight back, with a bulky chest and hindquarters. Grasshopper handles well when sheared or trimmed.
We have retired Grasshopper from the breeding program, focusing on several of his ram offspring as potential studs, due to their large frames and beautiful soft fleeces.
Rams and ewes from Grasshopper’s line for sale can be found on the Sales Page.
Gizmo
CLRC Reg. No. TMB GIZMO RAM B2H 2R
Horned Grey Solid Twin
( Carries Moorit and Spotting)
Gizmo is growing into an incredible ram. Born here on the farm in 2005, from Oreo and Grasshopper, Gizmo exhibits the best qualities of his parents; excellent conformation, wide double curling horns, and soft charcoal grey fleece.
Gizmo has been bred on a limited basis producing our Annie and her twin brother Andy, who is a stud on a farm in Kentucky.
We are keeping Gizmo, using him as a stud ram for future breeding seasons. Gremlin, Gizmo’s equally stunning twin brother is offered for sale on the Sales page.

Sad Update: Jan. 25, 2008
After a severely cold, clear night, we found Grasshopper laying next to the fence, the snow all turned up, the woven wire fence bowed out, and coyote tracks all over the place. Whatever happened, Grasshopper fought till the last defending his flock.
We will severely miss his antics, his turning of his massive head and flicking of his tongue begging for extra “corn chips”, the way he still thought he was a “lap lamb” even though he was full grown, and his general outstanding masculine presence in the ram flock.
Grasshopper produced many fine offspring, large imposing rams and beautiful full fleeced ewes, that are still the core of our breeding lines and the lines of several farms through out the Midwest.
Our ram pen will seem very empty this year without Grasshopper’s morning greetings.

Phoenix
CLRC Reg. No. TMB PHOENIX RAM B5H 6P
Horned Solid Twin
(Carries Moorit and Spotting)
Phoenix is the largest ram in our flock. With a strapping build, large well defined musculature, and a impressive “ram” head, this boy has a powerful presence.
Phoenix was bred here on Thimbleberry Farm and is the product of our Patriarch, Grasshopper and Little One. Even with his bulky size, this ram is extremely gentle, never approaching the feed line until after you back away.
Phoenix was a very crimpy fleece, like his dam, that has heavy flashing and is beginning to silver.
Update: Phoenix was one of the coyote casualties from the winter of 2007-2008. We did use Phoenix for the 2008 breeding and are hoping to see his impressive size and superior qualities passed on to his lambs.
May 2008 Update: After being disappointed when Phoenix’s first batch of ewes came up empty, were ecstatic with his second pen of ewe’s lambs for the 2008 lambing season!!! Please check out these HUGE lambs with ENORMOUS horn buds!!!
